Leon and I Get GLAMMED UP for the ACS Award Night!

Captured in breathtaking 4K resolution, this film showcases the C400's incredible dynamic range, low-light performance, and color science. Whether you're a filmmaker, videographer, or tech enthusiast, watch as we push the limits of this camera's capabilities in every frame. See why the Canon C400 is the ultimate tool for creating professional, cinematic visuals. From the cinematographer, Leon Chrysostomou: I was honoured when I was recently given the opportunity to test the brand-new Canon C400 and to use my cinematography skills to push the camera to its limits. I only had the camera for one night, so I certainly wasn’t familiar with all its intricacies. I wrote the script in just one hour and set out to shoot a short film that would explore what this cutting-edge camera could achieve in a real-world setting. The performance at ISO 12,800 straight out of the camera is absolutely stunning. With its 6K full-frame back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor and triple base ISO, this camera is a low-light powerhouse! To truly test its low-light capabilities and autofocus, I created a paranoid thriller centred around characters navigating Melbourne’s CBD at night. Using only available light and relying entirely on the camera’s advanced autofocus, I shot about 80% of the film at ISO 12,800 in Canon RAW Light, with the rest in XF-HEVC S. The results are incredibly impressive, and I didn’t even need to use noise reduction to clean up the image.
