In creating a commercial for Seeing Machines, my goal was to blend cinematic visuals with a deeply emotional journey for the character. By doing so, I aimed to forge a strong connection between the audience and the character, fostering a sense of empathy and engagement. This emotional investment naturally heightened the audience’s interest when the product was revealed as the solution to the character’s problem.
This strategic approach enabled me to craft a commercial that is not only powerful and impactful but also memorable. It leaves a lasting impression on viewers, prompting them to reflect on what they have just experienced and think more deeply about the product and its benefits. The blend of compelling storytelling driven by emotion and striking visuals, ensure that the commercial deeply resonates with the audience, making it a highly effective piece of communication.
Achieving the level of polish and professionalism expected in a commercial typically demands a large crew and a substantial budget. That’s why I take immense pride in having single-handedly produced this commercial. With no crew and virtually no budget, I assumed every role: director, director of photography, camera operator, editor, VFX artist, and colourist.
